Monastery Garden
The monastery was built in the middle of vineyards in the 15th century and it also managed the land that the local regulars farmed and lived on since the very beginning. So besides the vineyard, we can still see the rod hop-garden on the grounds at the present (the small monastery brewery was founded in the middle of the 19th century) or livestock ranges (goats, sheep, mangalica, etc.). A part of the garden in the upper part of the grounds has been conditioned as a relaxation park and another part houses stages for cultural enjoyment with the Konírna buffet.
The trees in the garden are traditionally mainly fruit trees; they still make the monastery brandy from plums and apples. The monastery bees make delicious honey for their adoptive parents. The gardens annually host the Saint Wenceslas Vintage Festival, Kadaň Beer Festival, Franciscan Summer and many other events in the gardens.
